I see that, but my point was that this series is more complicated than the simple one I sent yesterday, using compile time decisions[1]. And the #ifdefs there were not guarding any *code* as well, only defines. So I am not against this approach here, I just wanted to point out that despite the extra effort of doing runtime choices we will actually fail in doing so anyway.
