Hi LeRoi, You don't have to have it in one line. You can use a 'here' document in a script to access Universe output eg.
#!/bin/ksh `cat /.uvhome`/bin/uv <<EOF SSELECT VOC WITH F1 = "F" "DIR" BY F2 F2 SAVE-LIST FILEPATHS EOF cp <Account path>/\&SAVEDLISTS\&/FILEPATHS <path to where you want the stuff> Just run this script as the user you need to be and in the account you need to obtain the filenames from Regards David Logan Database Administrator HP Managed Services 139 Frome Street, Adelaide 5000 Australia +61 8 8408 4273 - Work +61 417 268 665 - Mobile +61 8 8408 4259 - Fax -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of LeRoi Keiller Sent: Thursday, 1 July 2004 1:06 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [U2] How create list of uv files from VOC? > SSELECT VOC WITH F1 = "F" "DIR" BY F2 F2 > SAVE-LIST FILEPATHS > COPY.LIST FILEPATHS > TO:(BP Wow, that really works. Thanks. Now if I could just put that in one line, or execute it as one string from unix. Reason is I need to run it from a script, like: uv "SSELECT VOC..." Anyone? -----Original Message----- From: Susan Lynch [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, 1 July 2004 13:04 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [U2] How create list of uv files from VOC?
