We has this problem when there was a firewall between the client and the
server and the firewalls default setting was to disconnect idle
connections
within 60 mins. Doesn't sound like what you're seeing but experience
shows
that what seems an unrelated change in infrastructure can have a knock
on
effect.

Cheers

Nick

Subject: [U2] [UD] telnet sessions losing connection

Our system has been running fine for a year. This morning it started
losing
telnet sessions and we have down most of the day. HP replaced the
network
card (core i/o), but it is still having problems. Pinging and telneting
from
other servers/workstations works intermittently and once it does
connect, it
doesn't last long. Tried replacing cables and switching ports.

Thank you.
