This problem should no longer occur with UniData 6.0.8 or later. Also - once you have truncated the file back down to an even multiple of the blocksize and can open it, there is rarely any additional physical file corruption. With fairly recent versions of UniData, the error message tells you exactly what the problem is and the block size of the file. Or, you can use 'fileview -p1 FILENAME' from the shell to see the block size to use with the dd command.
