As another option to try, write a program that uses the BASIC SELECT statement, not the TCL SELECT. This way the program will step through the group, grabbing each record ID one by one. After the READNEXT, test for a key length not equal zero. This will handle a null key condition. Next, do a CONVERT on the key to eliminate any VALID characters you use in the key. Things like letters, numbers, asterisks, periods. Then check the length of what's left. If it's still not equal to zero then do what you want with this record. Maybe display the remaining key value as hex values and prompt if you want to copy and/or delete it. Maybe display the contents of the data.
