>From within the editor, you can edit a line with the "C" command.  To
reference a value mark, use ^253 as typed characters.  The editor will
interpret that as a value mark.  Subvalues would be with ^252.  An
example would be something like:

C/ABC^253GHI/ABC^253DEF^253GHI

This would locate "ABC" @VM "GHI" and change it to "ABC" @VM "DEF" @VM
"GHI", thus inserting a value "DEF" and an associated value mark.

Again, you type the characters ^ (Shift-6) then the number 253 to
represent the @VM character.
