Pretty rare, in 20 years as a PI/U2 software/ services provider I've
experienced only one confirmed instance
This was of repeated inappropriate access by a legitimate user with a grudge
who found a back door into the database and by resetting control records
caused quite serious problems for a few months. The individual concerned
would have been more than capable of figuring out how to use UniObjects

I accept the chances are pretty slim and if it was my system I'd probably
decide that the benefits outweighed the risk. Equally, I don't think it
should take much work on IBM's part to provide something like UOLOGIN so
that we can prevent valid telnet users who for historic reasons have full
access to the database but are carefully cocooned in menus and application
programs from giving themselves access to TCL via UO

Can we have a quick show of hands of those who have had there U2 system
hacked?

I am not saying that it's not an issue, I am just curious. I do not know of
it happening.
