Some people have really weird tastes. :) You can obviously smoke your cigar in the privacy of your home and use GOTO in the code nobody else will have to deal with. But you can't expect today either to smoke in a room where non-smokers work or program GOTO style in a team of programmers who try to create the code that supposed to be supportable.
