Some data can be copied this way. However, when record keys are moved to a type 19 DOS file they're changed from, for example, 192*16 to 192%A16; which is a real pain. Most of our software is upgraded from within the mvDbms environment, as we do this simply by building all changes into a single file with a key of [DICT*]FileName*ItemID; old standard PICK stuff. But without T-DUMP/T-LOADs, this process needs to be reengineered and all kinds of issues arise. Most of our customers no longer have either tape drives or floppies and do backups to other drives and C/Ds and DVDs. What used to be simple is now becoming a convoluted mess. Oh well, that's what it's like working with 1980 technology. :-( So, now I have to copy some stuff via DOS files and some via wIntegrate. Anyway, thanks for the ideas.
