You may need to set the ALLOWNFS tuneable parameter in uvconfig to 1. Otherwise you ought not to have any problems.
If UniVerse is also running on the machine from which V: is mapped, a more robust solution would be to use UV/Net. In that case, the "F" pointer in VOC has the form hostname!pathname.
