I am calling a UniVerse BASIC program TEST from the UNIX command prompt using the following command 'uv "TEST"' which sets @SYSTEM.RETURN.CODE to various values. I was hoping to be able to check the exit status of the uv command thinking that @SYSTEM.RETURN.CODE may be used to set the exit status, but it appears that is not the case. Is this expected behaviour, or is there a way of doing this, apart from displaying the value of @SYSTEM.RETURN.CODE and capturing the output.
