I wanted to do something similar (allowing a user to edit their .profile record from within UV). What I ended up doing was using a file name without a dot and then using SH to execute a unix "cp" to change the file's name.

Just wondering how to create a new unix file prefixed with a dot. I have tried: openpath b/home/acctb to ff then write x on ff,b.netrcb However, this creates b?.netrcb with a question mark. Anyone know what might be a better way to do this? Thanks, Stuart DISCLAIMER: Disclaimer. This e-mail is private and confidential.
