I have seen similar problems on Okidata Dot Matrix printers. This may not solve your problem but it might be worth a try if your printer is similar to our Oki... The printhead on the Okidata slides on a bar. Lubricating this bar has fixed these paper handling problems for us occasionally. If you try this, don't use WD-40 (at least that's what Okidata says). Use a heavier type of grease. Sorry, I can't tell you what kind. It's something our maintenance department keeps on hand and I really don't know what it is. You may be able to call the printer manufacturer and find out what they recommend.
