We had several okidata printers at CSI Donner when I worked there - we
killed more trees with these little things than you could throw a rock at.
Any who, there was a part on the tractor assembly that wore out on a regular
basis.  For us it was about every 6 to 8 months, and the maintenance guys
would be changing that piece.

Instead of a chain, or a gear assembly, it's just two rollers rubbing
against each other to advance the paper and sooner or later they're a goner.
That's when you get the slow creeping of the paper, and the creeping feeling
you should have bought an Epson. :)

I oil the slidebars monthly with 3-in-1 oil. They are very clean and shiny
still.
