Hi.
We need a CLIENT Universe ODBC driver for Linux OS.
Does any body know if it is true what that old email says?
Any help would be apreciated.
Regards,

Hi
IBM don't warrant or certify the products on the market - but if you jave
a
word with Tech Support they will point you to some Unix ODBC driver
manager
suppliers.
A number of people use them quite successfully.
They may even be listed in the U2 knowledgebase on the web (I haven't
checked - a little exercise so everyone can check they know how to find
it
;-)

Because of the lack of drivers for unix, we have found the Easysoft
ODBC-ODBC Bridge product to be very useful. It comes with unixODBC
included
in the install. You will still need a Windows server that will 'host' the
ODBC drivers.
Check it out at www.easysoft.com

Subject: ODBC Drivers for Unix
Hello,
It would appear that most of the ODBC support is focussed on Windows
machines.
Does anyone know if there are UniData/ODBC drivers for Unix-like
machines?
This would enable macintosh and other unix-like desktop clients (as well
as web servers running on unix-like OSes) to access the database via
typical ODBC/SQL functionality.
Web developers won't have to use UniObjects for Java. They could use a
standard tool like UnixODBC to make the data sources available via a
driver and then run queries.
The UnixODBC project provides drivers (or links to them) for several
databases but not UniData or UniVerse.
Any information regarding this would be very helpful, thanks.
Louis
