Do you have the right permissions for the User ID you are using? (Check the
schema permissions using VSG).

Are you able to Insert or Modify? If no updates are possible is it a view or
a sub-table?

Lastly - log in as the user you are using at ECL and run your statement at
ECL from the SQL prompt.

Subject: [U2] ODBC error via SQLSERVER linked server

I am using SS2005 and have setup a linked server using UniData ODBC,
Version 3.1.6.

Everything works, except deleting records from a Unidata table using the
following command:

DELETE openquery(UNIDATA, 'SELECT * FROM LIA_LOG_SNAP')

This returns the error message:

========================================================================
=========
OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "UNIDATA" returned message
"[Ardent][UniData ODBC Driver][IBM][SQL Client][UNIDATA]DELETE FROM
"LIA_LOG_SNAP" WHERE "ID"=? AND "RID"=?;
syntax error".
Msg 7345, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "UNIDATA" could not
delete from table "SELECT * FROM LIA_LOG_SNAP". There was a recoverable,
provider-specific error, such as an RPC failure.
========================================================================
=========

Has anyone ever seen this before? Are there any solutions?

Thanks for your help in advance,
