Yep, that's the one. You won't find any mention of U2. You choose the product based on the server end, which would be SQL Server in this case. The client version is chosen based on the OS you're running UV on. It will work for UV on that OS, but theoretically should also work for any other app running on that machine that is ODBC compliant. The drivers are not specifically taylored to the client application.
We've always used the multi-tier enterprise edition, BTW, so I can't speak to the performance or compatibility of the cheaper versions with UV. The multi-tier edition installs a request broker on the SQL box that listens for client requests and passes them along to the SQL database in an optimised fashion. The single-tier versions use the same methodology of the Easysoft drivers where you only install a client driver and it speaks to SQL in the native TDS protocol. -John > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of JPB-U2UG > Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 2:50 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: [U2] U2 - SQL Server ODBC Connection via Universe > > Is this the one at: www.openlinksw.com > Just wondering because they don't mention U2 anywhere. > > Jerry Banker > Senior Programmer Analyst > IBM Certified Solutions Expert > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John Hester > Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 4:04 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: [U2] U2 - SQL Server ODBC Connection via Universe > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of JPB-U2UG > > Sent: Sunday, May 11, 2008 12:24 PM > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: Re: [U2] U2 - SQL Server ODBC Connection via Universe > > > > So would you recommend OpenLink then? > > Jerry > > Sorry for the delayed reply - just got back from vacation.
