I have a customer wanting to use DoubleTake to accomplish a 'SAN-Like' replication at the OS/Hardware level instead of using the 'native' UniData Replications.
Larger customers are concluding that 'hardware' or 'OS' solutions seem to be better for the task since they get EVERY change, not just those that are configured in advance **and** supported... UniData's Replciation is a good, inexpensive data replication system, but far from comprehansive if the site does a lot of changes, file resizes, etc... Our clients using SAN units have no problems -- that's the hardware answer! But I have someone asking about DoubleTake as a software solution -- this client is at that size they can't quite afford a SAN, but have too much going on for just UniData replication...
