Correct, I have not used either. but even if they do allow creation, you still have to know what the data is, it's purpose in life to accurately define a dict item.
Do those programs also scan the entire file to determine what the highest attribute number is? (I use an idesc "dcount(@record,char(254))", then list the file by.dsnd) otherwise, he may have more than 3 hidden fields.
