They _shouldn't_ contain that sort of thing, these are actually essays that students write in html editors and submit to their professors. The professors want to be able to select them and print them off, along with other information from student files. So hopefully this will be more simple than complex. :)

All of the suggestion so far should be of value, but I'll note
that if the HTML pages include javascript or CSS you're going to
have a problem with all of the suggestions.  Some tools like
HtmlDoc (another fine but limited solution) don't process CSS at
all and only process up to HTML 3.2, not 4.x.  Let us know in
this forum if your requirements are more complex.
