If you have a file defined in Universe where field 2 is the path to the file like
BILLS F D:\universe\accounting\BILLS D_VOC and you OPEN the file in BASIC Should you then be able to delete records within this file (Files within this directory) ? Or does the mere fact that you have a directory open prevent the deletion of the underlying files ? I could, if this is the problem, just recreate the file as a type 1 (directory) so that it doesn't expose a path in field 2 above .... -----Original Message----- From: Brian Leach <[email protected]> To: U2 Users List <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, Apr 4, 2012 11:38 am Subject: Re: [U2] Unable to unlink the operating system file BILLS.123 Will it usually means something is holding it open, if you download the sysinternals ools (Google sysinternals) they can show you the processes holding a file open. rom memory its the 'handle' command but check the docs. Could it be that the file is being held open by something? That I don't have ermissions to delete ? That the directory is read-only in Windows? What is my checklist to run through, to figure out which issue is my issue? _______________________________________________ U2-Users mailing list [email protected] http://listserver.u2ug.org/mailman/listinfo/u2-users ______________________________________________ 2-Users mailing list [email protected] ttp://listserver.u2ug.org/mailman/listinfo/u2-users _______________________________________________ U2-Users mailing list [email protected] http://listserver.u2ug.org/mailman/listinfo/u2-users
