I have run into this before.

I'm using Linux ACL's to give access to a 3rd party developer to a Universe
Account. (So in other words I don't want this user in the main uvusers
group I have).
So far everything has went well except the Universe /tmp directory (which
can be changed in uvconfig) is giving me problems.

Currently the permissions are:
drwxrwsrwx+ 2 s7 uvusers 4096 May 12 08:29 tmp

Since Universe did not seem to recognize the ACL's.

Of course, it did not seem to recognize 777 either.

SO... I'm guessing that you have to restart Universe to make it re-read
these permissions.
This is the error, despite the 777 permissions.

Temporary directory /uvdata2/tmp does not exist or have adequate
permissions.
An error has occurred during uniVerse initialization
Please contact the system administrator

Seems like I have had to restart Universe before when trying to add
permissions to this directory.

Any thoughts?
