Tried changing the depth to 1. Same results. I going to try change the Use As, Format, and Algorithm and talk to the person that run the server.

I'm no expert (trial and error on this myself) but try increasing the depth on setAuthenticationDepth.  I think 1 would work in this case with no certificate chain.
