I have run across this problem twice lately (neither time involving
Redback). In both cases my problem was because of Windows Update
downloading a new driver for an IBM Ethernet card. It caused the machine to
make continual DHCP requests, hundreds per minute for no apparent reason. I
had to reload the original driver that came with the machine from the
installation CD.

Subject: Massive RedBack Network Traffic

Our network consists of several servers, of which one is Universe 10.0 on
W2000, which runs fine. After adding a W2000 RedBack server to our
existing network, massive amount of traffic and collision has been
detected. The traffic takes place as soon as the RedBack server is plugged
in before even running anything. The traffic stops when the server is
unplugged. Has anyone experienced this problem. If so, how was it
resolved? Any other tips would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Baruch
