What version of UV and odbc driver are you running ?

I ask because we had uv10 and found when we installed a third party product
using odbc to connect to universe, the 3rd party product ran like a dog.

Naturally all the blame goes on the 3rd party product until after much
investigation, we realised that on the 3rd party side, it really pointed to
the odbc driver. We had also tried running their app to access and that
performed much better !

In our case the product was peaking at 90-100% CPU usage whilst doing odbc
work with universe - on a separate server. And the product was the only
active app on the box - indeed, it was the only installed app on the box
too.

We called in IBM and a memory leak on the UV side was found. This seemed to
affect the performance of the odbc driver on the other side.

IBM got us a newer version to test (10.0.14 I think), and together with a
newer odbc driver (3.07.02.1084), this improved things a lot - the 3rd party
app is now down to around 10-20% CPU.

Thought i'd mention this in case it helps you find the problem - I never
expected a problem on the UV side, on a separate box, to affect CPU usage on
a separate box !
