At the unit for Decision Support Systems at Aalborg University, Denmark (www.cs.auc.dk/research/DSS) there is a number of openings from August 1rst 2001 or as soon as convenient thereafter. The focus of the research at DSS-AAU is normative systems, for example Bayesian networks, Bayesian learning, influence diagrams, POMDPs, decision-theoretic diagnosing and troubleshooting, and the aim is to contribute theoretically as well as practically to the development of the normative paradigm. The unit is engaged in basic research as well as application projects with industrial and academic partners, and we expect to start two or more new projects in the fall 2001. For the current and future projects we look for applicants with a PhD or a masters degree in computer science or statistics. The positions are for one year (with good prospects of being extended), and the yearly salary after deduction of income tax is DKr 225,000 - 260,000 (appr. euro 30,000-35,000).
