I have a similar problem:

When I try to invoke Ubiquity it won't show up and I get an error in
the console which states:

Error: gUbiquity is null
Source File: chrome://ubiquity/content/browser.js
Line: 200

"about:ubiquity" works just fine.

I'm using Ubiquity 0.2pre29 (the auto-updated version) and Shiretoko
Nightly (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:
1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090415 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre).
