"Portable media player" - they play more than just music these days
including talking books, podcasts, videos. Although out of the box we
don't have a way of getting video onto these devices (unless they're
mass storage devices) because Rhythmbox doesn't care about video.

Amusingly my ancient iRiver IHP-140 has the moniker "multi-codec
jukebox". Snappy huh?

Slideshow doesn't mention ipod support

Status in “ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu” package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubiquity

In the slide titled "Music and movies in Ubuntu" it reads:
"Plug in an MP3 player to start synchronizing your music collection, or insert
a CD to copy its music to your computer."

The iPod brand is a household name and I believe it would be worth mentioning
in the slideshow.

Also, http://google.com/trends?q=mp3+player,+mp3,+ipod suggests that many more
people are familiar with 'iPod' rather than 'MP3 player'.
