I had one at home do the exact same thing this weekend. I was able to do the firmware recovery (I think), as it accepted a tftp upload after holding the reset for 8 seconds after power-on. The two ports I had PoE enabled on did turn on once a couple of reboots after the recovery, but then stopped again. I haven't had a chance to mess with it more, but you're not alone.
