If it was one of the first show gifts, it’s probably gone bad.  I had to 
replace all of mine from that period.

I think I have one that was a show gift and one that I bought. Not sure which 
one is which. One's still working, this one less than. I've never had a show 
gift keep working, so maybe it's this one.

I had one at home do the exact same thing this weekend.  I was able to do the 
firmware recovery (I think), as it accepted a tftp upload after holding the 
reset for 8 seconds after power-on.  The two ports I had PoE enabled on did 
turn on once a couple of reboots after the recovery, but then stopped again.  I 
haven't had a chance to mess with it more, but you're not alone.
