Hello all: We have been testing the UBNT AC PtMP Product line for the last 3 months. Since our testing has started, we have gone through multiple iterations of testing and firmware. Stability overall has been good, fixes to issues were implemented quickly. As with any beta product testing, we were putting it through it's paces.
Our current environment is: 190' Water Tower overlooking suburban subdivision of 250 homes, most clients <1 mile. 2.4GHz Noise Floor is -40. 5GHz Noise Floor is -74. The majority of the clients are currently connected at -59 or better. We decided to use this opportunity as a way to compete head-to-head with TW Cable (up to 100Mb) and UVerse DSL (up to 18Mb). We sold it as Free Install, Free for at least 90 days, and no contract. Even at that, it has been a hard sell. However, not a single client has complained or quit. Everyone has replied that things have been great and that the speeds they are receiving at peak times are still 50Mbit+ (something they never saw with Cable or DSL). We currently have ~15 people connected at this time. We are using the NanoBeam AC units as described in the PtP release made today as the CPE's. 20MHz channel in the regular 5.8GHz band. We are running AirOS 7. The nice persistent RF constellations and noise calculations are nice to have. Latency has been great, sub 2ms the majority of the time to our core (this site is 1 hop off our main tower at our office) We are using a Rocket5 AC Lite (Office Tower) to a UBNT PowerBeam 5 AC (Water Tank) to feed the site. Currently to the client, we get 150x100Mbit UDP and about 90x50Mbit TCP (We have seen 120's, this might be a congestion issue going on right now, or because we are using BTest from MikroTik to test with and maxing out the CPU) Regards, Chuck On Tue, Dec 9, 2014 at 3:24 PM, Mike Hammett <[email protected]> wrote: > Agreed. > > > > ----- > Mike Hammett > Intelligent Computing Solutions > http://www.ics-il.com > > <https://www.facebook.com/ICSIL> > <https://plus.google.com/+IntelligentComputingSolutionsDeKalb> > <https://www.linkedin.com/company/intelligent-computing-solutions> > <https://twitter.com/ICSIL> > > ------------------------------ > *From: *"Matt Hoppes" <[email protected]> > *To: *"Ubiquiti Users Group" <[email protected]> > *Sent: *Tuesday, December 9, 2014 2:22:19 PM > *Subject: *Re: [Ubnt_users] Rocket ACs > > Thank you Ben!
