I couldn't agree more on this point. We know the Clearlooks theme is going to be the default in Ubuntu (and Gnome in general). I'd love to see a half-dozen or more color variations of that theme. I haven't done any theming myself, but glancing at the docs over at art.gnome.org, it doesn't look very difficult - expecially just to change colors. (I happen to like both the Ubuntu brown and the Clearlooks default blue - very slick).
