Oh, Clearlooks is gonna be default?
Thats something I didnt know, but: great!
Color Variations for the Clearlooks Theme, based on the Ubuntu-Palette..
Thats finally something I could do in my sparse amount of time :o)
I'll send some suggestions to you in the next few days.
Or is there a place where we can upload it right now? I didnt read the
mails so well last time :o)
The thing with the font - its right, in lower sizes it should be more
crisp on some sort of monitors.
Perhaps we can do some sort of presets make for this, also included i a
theme like "Clearlooks - Ubuntu Red (Laptop)"
Greetings..

See, I like the brown at pretty much all times. And users can change
a lot of defaults if they dislike them. Though it might not hurt to
have a few "default" color scemes to choose from that maintain the
feel of ubuntu while moving away from the "just brown" look.
I couldn't agree more on this point. We know the Clearlooks theme is
going to be the default in Ubuntu (and Gnome in general). I'd love to
see a half-dozen or more color variations of that theme. I haven't
done any theming myself, but glancing at the docs over at
art.gnome.org, it doesn't look very difficult - expecially just to
change colors. (I happen to like both the Ubuntu brown and the
Clearlooks default blue - very slick).
Glad to have you here JoE!
