Just to clarify - the FAILSAFE versions were intended to be 'less drastic' adaptations of the current designs so that they were more acceptable if the other designs weren't popular - kind of a fallback, not a different set of art for when the user is in failsafe mode, though that is probably a good idea.
The failsafe GDM is very similar to the Dapper GDM - which is why it is considered 'Failsafe' - it uses the Dapper logo and the 'glow' effect around it, with no glossiness :) Hope that clears things up, Who On 9/20/06, effraie <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > hello. > > i think have a failsafe theme is a great idea. but, in my opinion, it > where more usefull if the failsafe theme have something special, > advertising the user is using a special & dangerous mode, and that he > must be very carefully. > > mathieu > > Who a écrit : > > Hi again, > > > > == Sets == > > In order to add a bit of sanity to the proliferation of variations of > > my work, I have started a page for 'sets' - a showcase of a GDM, > > lsplash and wallpaper that fit together well - there are currently 5 > > up there :) > > > > These 'sets' are designed to show how the different bits of work look > > together... > > > > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Specs/EdgyArtworkPlan/Produce/Incoming/WhoDefaultAttemptsSets > > > > Feel free to add any sets if you think you see things that fit > > together well - all the necessary source files are on the respective > > wiki pages. > > > > == Failssafe == > > > > While making the sets I decided to add a 'failsafe' one - you will se > > that the sets progress further from this. > > > > Failsafe is work that tones-down the effects I have added in favour of > > things that were in Dapper - you will see the GDM is almost identical > > to the dapper one - for example the logo is the same as in Dapper.
