Hello artists, I've marked the Produce phase as "completed" on the Wiki to move on to the last phase which is called Polish. I'm afraid therein lies both good and bad news. To bring you the bad news first I'll say that we won't be doing polishing just yet but we need to concentrate more on getting proposals in line with Mark's expectations.
The good news is that there's a lot of creative freedom for the work in getting that done. There are also more concrete guidelines we need to follow to make something we can get into Edgy, which makes creating artwork a bit more fail-safe. We haven't got a lot of time to get this rolling, so I will be defining the guidelines, restricting the palette (Troy has already provided a good base for this) and providing more feedback than you probably have become used to. It sounds ambitious but I think we've gotten a good idea of what to do in the past months. Contrary to what I've said to some of you earlier I'll be on the phone with Mark upcoming Friday, I mistakenly assumed that would have happened yesterday. We can make good use of this situation by having a variety of new designs and ideas ready by that time. There are some good designs already on the Wiki, but we need to pay attention to several specific areas to make Mark happier than ever before. I will start documenting and summarizing the guidelines tomorrow and I hope to have finished them by the end of the day. On top of that, expect me to join in on the artwork creation myself - I've always wanted to become a real contributing member of the artwork team. If you have any questions, comments, complaints, ideas, suggestions, praises or critiques now -as always- would be a good time to voice your opinion. We're nearing the final stages of Edgy development and the last parts are the toughest. We've already showed a lot of people what we can accomplish as a team and we can have faith in the future if we continue doing what we do best.
