Hi, So, here is my take on the department screens. The concept is to use Unity textures/elements for the department screens, to maintain a consistent feel within the OS. Basically, the background pattern is what is used in certain places in Unity Maverick. ( so, If we change the material for Unity Natty we can adapt accordingly) First one is more subtle, we would need to adjust the colors so that the pattern is more/less noticeable when other icons are on the screen: <http://www.foopics.com/show/6be66fbab8c15cef64fbb2de5f7ee9e8> Alternatively, We could use a cut-out, but it seems more louder: <http://www.foopics.com/show/392b3c5b5ccaa3395c050037d77ed935> I havent given much attention to the icons, we could either use the icons similar to the categories or the same or use some new other common stylized ones.. I'v done only for two departments, just to indicate the idea. (inkscape gets reaaaaaalllyyy slow with such patterns :/) (On the plus side, while waiting, I ended up with a lot of other interesting patterns. yay!) -- Cheers, Vish -- ubuntu-art mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
