Try the information at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats If you are using the "Xine" backend for Amarok, you might need "libxine-extracodecs" which is a package in Feisty - but in Gutsy I don't know if this exists as such. There should be an equivalent though. Alternatively, there are quite a few other apps that will play Shoutcast streams. On every nice one is "Streamtuner". You can use this with xmms or audacious or beep-media-player, depending on your Ubuntu version ( audacious is available for Feisty onwards ( 7.04 and up). You can also rip streams using Streamripper, which Streamtuner can use for that purpose with a button click.
