Here's the list of the three changes necessary. They should be fairly straightforward to effect.

(1) firefox needs Build-Depends on "libcairo1-dev", else ./configure barfs.

(2) patch -p1 -R < debian/ubuntu-patches/firefox-nopangoxft.patch: this needs to be unmerged (part of cairo addons from Breezy)

(3)
The following from grep... gcc-4.0 needs to be changed to gcc and so on.

./security/coreconf/Linux.mk:CC                 = gcc-4.0
./security/coreconf/Linux.mk:DEFAULT_COMPILER = gcc-4.0
./security/coreconf/Linux.mk:CCC = g++-4.0

I don't have the background on this issue; send me the proposed patches and
