No no, Do not use envy or tools like that. As You have a GeforceMX, nvidia-glx-new will not work on your card
so you have to use nvidia-glx or nvidia-glx-legecy Install nvidia-glx first sudo aptitude install nvidia-glx if it do not work, (X won't load) then install the nvidia-glx-legacy sudo aptitude install nvidia-glx-legacy On Mon, May 19, 2008 at 7:42 PM, Shahriar Tariq <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > you actually dont require mannually install driver. > > you can use envy to download and install then configure the driver and > graphics setting. > > it is a better option I have seen > > install envy from synaptic > > system>administration>synaptic > > search envy > > select envyng-core > > then select envyng-gtk for gnome version or envyng-qt for kde version > mark all > > Select Apply > > (For the geeks :P > > sudo apt-get install envyng-core ) > > now after installation go to applications>system tool>envyng > > to run and install your driver. > > (for the geeks > Alt+F2 > type envyng press enter) > > select ATI or nVidia according to your graphics card. then you can manually > install your driver or automatically install the driver. > > > Thanking you > Shahriar > -- > ubuntu-bd mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd > >
