You probably have a miss-understanding about the policy kit, Its not supposed to auto authenticate user neither remember those information. Its certainly not supposed to work with Keyring manager.

Its certainly much stable then previous versions as it contains all the recent bug fixes and patches. I'm yet to see it crush. Same goes to X server. After the final release the GDE have been solid for me. Not a single crush. The more recent version have more less bugs, more less bugs means more stable applications. So I welcome every updates. Again you can always turn off auto updates if you don't like. KDE's version system is different then Gnome. KDE was released to the publics so that interested normal users can start trying it, but they've been worn, Its not KDE developer's fault if someone tries to use unstable and incomplete version. Whats stopping you to manually configuring X? I had to configure my X configuration manually when an update broke my X (during alpha period), I just switched to other terminal(<Ctrl>+<Alt>+(1-6) and edited my xorg.conf file and restarted. I know I still can do that if I have any problems. Amarok worked out of the box with pulseaudio for me ... thats updates does for you ;) T.
