Problem 1 I had a working Kubuntu 8.10 RC up until now, my friend downloaded Kubuntu 8.10 for me, since both my CDROM & DVDROM is dead I took my hard disk to his house to install Kubuntu 8.10 stable release.
But there I could not install Kubuntu 8.10 gparted could not see my present partition, it just shows my harddisk as one larg unallocated harddisk space as sda1 (my hdd is 40GB pata) Does anyone have any clue why its showing sda1? and not showing my existing partitions? prety much what I remember, partition 1 is swap drive, partition 2 is root ext3, Partition 3 is /home ext3 Partition 4 C drive (ntfs), partition 5 is D (ntfs) but the whole thing is shown one larg unallocated space :( is anyone else getting this problem>?? I heard the same problem in dream linux. Problem 2 when I plugged my hdd to my friend's pc I suppose it changed the network configuration for my existing Kubuntu 8.10 RC. and now I can't connect to internet. I can't find a way to reconfigure it, I tried Knetworkmanager without much success. I tried setting new connection, auto enabling, without success. it does not give any warning or anything, just does not work I just want my kubuntu 8.10 RC get backed online. I hate windows I hate every second I spend on windows.
