Got the 8.10 installed in my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6400). Did a fresh install instead of upgrade. In first glance, everything seems to be better than before. Power management is behaving really well, love it! Network manager doing its wonder. Quite fast and tidy in getting connected. Enabled extra visual effects and its running smooth (didn't do very well in 8.04). Since I've got no dedicated VGA memory (shared from my RAM), this is marvelous. Font display seems to be better (given the combination of resolution and subpixel hinting parameters) but I am not sure if it is really a improvement from 8.04. Also, overall Desktop Environment and specially Firefox is responding faster. Some issue were encountered but nothing to take serious note and I am assuming that those will fixed by subsequent update.
