This seems to be a common upgrade problem. I found two solutions to this

1. enable bluetooth in start up (it worked for some ppl, i dont know why)
2. reinstall compiz

Do you get any error messages? for example

> Warning: Screen isn't composited. Please run compiz (-fusion) or another

If the above two dont work, you can manually change compiz setting by
installing compiz-config (u'll find it in software center)

the other problem, why dont you install ubuntuzilla?
ubuntuzilla.sourceforge.ne
If firefox starts at login it must be in the start up menu... i dont know
why you cant find it.
