Russ that would be awsome, and hopefully that would be a better sync- candidate, depending on when you get to push it, i.e if you upload the new version before the ubuntu sync window closes for Intrepid. It is not my decision to accept a sync request though.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openafs/+bug/267504 contains patches for building on 2.6.27 which are accepted (and commited) upstream.
