This is not an ubuntu bug, I put launcpad in "affects" column.
If you meant "the password field showed stars"
when you said "I found that Firefox and/or launchpad(?) had remembered my
password"
this isn't a bug about launchpad either.
Check firefox privacy options and list of remembered passwords.
