I suspect you have an old/incompatible extension installed somewhere. Shut down your Thunderbird.
Inside your ~/.mozilla-thunderbird/ there is a profile name that looks like "wx4ke9ne.default". Move the "extensions" folder inside it somewhere else (e.g. your Desktop) and restart Thunderbird. If the problem persists, it must be one of your old extensions.
