Hello, the same here. Ubuntu 8.10 Beta Alternate i386. I added dmesg, syslog and lspci. Made on the same machine running 8.04 and 8.10.
Actually the same goes for Desktop CD (both 32 and 64 bit), it just drops to (initramfs) after a while and nothing boots. It doesn't detect CD device (all previous versions since 5.10 have done it correctly).
