That's right, I've used their .run.

I've manually install the 96, 173 and 177. Here's some /var/log and
xorg.conf if those might be of any help.

I've also run :
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx xserver-xorg-core
sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-177-kernel-source nvidia-177-modaliases 
nvidia-glx-177
and those reinstall correctly. 

nvidia-settings still return : "Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)"
And jockey-gtk is still not aware of anything (blank window and no proprietary 
driver in use notification).
