Presuming the original reporter did not create his own asoundrc,
Dapper's ALSA version supports the cmi9761 codec just fine. I've
attempted to reproduce this issue using Dapper's {firefox,realplay (from
dapper-commercial),libasound2,linux-image-2.6.15-27-386} and can't.
