You've obviously got working internet if you can ping outside your network and get outside DNS resolution. Is it just the web that's a problem for you then? If that's the case and since you're using network-admin instead of network-manager, maybe your Firefox is just in Offline mode. Check in the File menu to see if Work Offline is checked.
